We haven’t had the chance to test this new in-ear headset yet, but recognize that on paper it is quite impressive. The result of 2 years of development by the engineers of the French brand, the Focal Sphear adopts an innovative anatomical concept, to “write a new chapter in the history of in-ear headphones”… We will see !
New Focal Sphear in-ear headphones
The in-ear headphones Focal Sphear joins the excellent Spirit One S, Spirit Pro and Spirit Classic headband helmets in the catalog of the Saint-Etienne firm. Developed in secret from 2 years, it comes to us today as a hero, with the stated claim of proposing “a new vision of the in-ear headset”… Just that !
Innovative ergonomics
It must be recognized from the outset that engineers Focal have gone all out on this helmet, both in terms of components and ergonomics. On this last point, we notice a rather innovative bias: if the shape memory tips are common (foam or rubber, you can choose according to your tastes), the shape and placement of the shells are less so. These shells have been designed for shift the weight of the helmet in the lower part of the ear, which induces much less fatigue than with a classic intra pair.
Refined components
Of course, the other strength of these in-ear headphones lies in their meticulous design, guaranteeing an audiophile sound faithful to the image of excellence conveyed by Focal. At the heart of the Sphear thus hides a 10.8mm mylar transducer, wider than the majority of those used on competing helmets. With him, we are promised a tonal balance “as surprising as it is unique in this family of headphones”… It is contained in a open acoustic chamber (vent), surmounted by a ring and a grid in stainless steel.
It comes with 3 pairs of foam tips, 3 pairs of rubber tips, a carrying pouch, and an airplane adapter. Also count on Universal remote controller with built-in microphone. Quick Focal, we’re dying to test it this Sphear !!!
